Richard Ward D.D.S.
After undergraduate study at UCSB, Dr. Ward
wsas awarded his doctoral degree in dental
surgery from Northwestern University Dental
School in 1974. He received two years additional
training in the U.S. Public Health Service
prior to returning to Santa Barbara where
he has been in private practice since 1976.
Dr. Ward is trained in both aesthetic and
general dentistry.
Dr. Ward achieved a post-doctoral
certificate in Esthetic Dentistry from UCLA
School of Dentistry in 1996. As a member
of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry,
he has spent the last six years in post-graduate
study to attain specialty accreditation.
Dr. Ward’s Philosophy
I discovered after dental school that I
enjoyed the creative and artistic side of
dentistry. My goal is to achieve the natural,
beautiful, healthy smile that the patient
wants. Because I am a perfectionist, I take
great care in every step of planning and
carrying out each patient’s treatment.
Incorporating the newest dental materials
and treatment options offers continuous
quality improvement in the care of my patients.
Patients need to know
all their options for treatment and have
all their questions answered. We take time
to discuss all possible treatments, all
questions, and all fees prior to beginning
any treatment. Our office is a center for
